Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens in a typical lesson?

A:    Each lesson lasts 50 minutes and is completely tailored to you. (Hourly

slots to allow 10 minutes buffer time for any questions or if we slightly overrun!) We’ll start with a vocal warm-up, followed by exercises to help develop your technique. Then we’ll work on a song (or songs) of your choice, whether it’s something you love, need for an audition, or just want to explore. Every session is designed to help you grow in skill and confidence at your

own pace.

Q: I've never sang before, does that matter?

A:    Not at all! A lot of my students started as beginners. You don’t need experience, just a willingness to give it a go! Lessons are super relaxed, supportive, and tailored to you. We’ll go at your pace, build your confidence, and help you find your voice along the way.

Q: What equipment do I need for online lessons?

A:   For online lessons you will need a device with a camera and microphone. I strongly advise using a laptop for audio quality. Having a secondary device that you can use to play tracks to sing along with is also very helpful.

It is also vital that you are in a quiet place with a good internet connection

For my lessons I use Zoom, so please ensure your app is up to date (always check before your lesson) and always use the app rather than the web

browser version.

Please also ensure you set your Zoom up with

the following settings:

Q: What days do you teach?

My working days are Monday - Friday, and I open my calendar towards the end of each month for the following month. Due to high demand I strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your lesson.

When you book your lesson you will be able to see my calendar availability

to choose the date/time slot that works best for you.

I understand that sometimes things come up last minute, so if you need an emergency lesson, please contact me and I shall try my very best to accommodate.

Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

A:   No problem! I just ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for any changes to your booking. Otherwise I cannot guarantee I will be able to reschedule your lesson, or provide a refund. Please contact hello@rachelgrundy.co.uk if you have any issues.

Q: How often should I have lessons?

A:   That’s totally up to you. Some students come weekly, others fortnightly or ad-hoc. We can chat about what works best for your schedule and goals.
